Position: Senior Civil/Structural Designer

The Senior Structural Designer is accountable for producing and maintaining structural design deliverables (including, but not limited to, drawings, BOM’s, 3D models & sketches) in accordance with industry standards, codes and client specifications, and within the timescale and budget set out by the Lead Civil/Structural Engineer.

The Designer is expected to perform the following activities:

  • Produce structural deliverables in accordance with industry standards, codes and client specifications.

    • Scope, investigate, define and prepare project plans for designs and investigations

    • Prepare comprehensive consultant briefs for designs and investigations

  • Check structural deliverables in accordance with industry standards, codes and client specifications.

    • Review all design documentation prepared and ensure that it is correct to a high degree of accuracy, suitable for construction and in accordance with all relevant standards and legislation.

  • Prepare & check material take-offs and bill of materials.

  • Undertake surveys and create survey reports.

  • Develop plot plans and general arrangement drawings

  • Design pipe supports and hangers

  • Prepare civil design plans, specifications and estimates for a range of civil design projects.

    • Monitor plans to ensure objectives are being satisfied and provide timely advice on any anticipated delays affecting project commitments.

    • Undertake technical investigations and prepare reports on a range of civil design projects.

  • Investigate, document and prepare applications for statutory approvals.

  • Undertake inspections of construction works to confirm compliance with design documentation.

  • Undertake post construction reviews and recommend areas of improvement.

  • Provide technical input during detailed engineering of projects as requested.

  • Establish good working relationships and communication with engineering discipline leads, construction management, construction superintendents, and clients

  • Job requires traveling to job site for field engineering and detail design investigations

Required Qualifications:

  • 15-Years’ experience in the Oil & Gas/Petrochemical industry

  • Ability to demonstrate previous experience in the use of AutoCAD 2D and 3D software

  • Must have good working knowledge of industry codes and standard
